An Introduction to Advocacy

Target Audience: All public community members

Description:

Citizens’ Committee for Children’s Advocacy 101: An Introduction to Advocacy workshop is designed for New York City residents interested in exploring ways in which they can advocate for the changes they wish to see in their communities.

 

Participants will have an opportunity to discuss strategies and tactics for mobilizing around policy or budget concerns and come away with tips on how to make their advocacy more effective. They will be challenged to use what they learn over the course of the workshop to develop ideas for how the can begin to move the needle on the issues that affect them,their families, and their communities. CCC hopes to empower New Yorker’s with the tools of effective advocacy and to inspire them to have a voice in public policy discussions that affect their lives.
