Chaplain Shamel Lawrence Sr. is a proud husband and proud father to 3 awesome boys. He was born and raised in Jamaica Queens. He has the privilege and honor of serving as the BBC Family Co-Chair for Queens. He joined the BBC to help all those communities who are struggling due to the lack of funding and resource.
“Being part of the BBCs has allowed me to bring awareness of multiple issues happening in our communities to the public forum. It has also allowed me to build community with others who share the same interests as me. I love being part of this amazing team. I will continue to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves.
